I  feel like I guess a lot of Greeks feel this Summer, a reed in the wind ! Our country is suffering, among other thinds, due to the rigidness of the German goverment’s behaviour and capital controls. The Greek economy collapses under the highest taxation while unemployment rises day by day. We live in Greece, one of the most blessed pieces on this earth. We are small but we have pride as a people, surviving through the years, our sole guide being our wild hearts.

Aesop’s fable, the Oak and the reed, remids me of our story. The tree taunts the reed for its frailty and yielding to every wind but the reed does not answer back. The myth deals with the contrasting behaviour of the oak, which trusts in its strength to withstand the storm but finally gets blown over, and the reed that ‘bends with the wind’ and so survives. The example is freakquently  used  as a parable about pride and humility, providing advice on how to survive in turbulent times.

*The story is thousand-years-old, symbolizing that the hard and strong will fall, the soft and weak will overcome. Greece keep up.

My love
